Fusion wedding at Ocean Edge Carriage House Balcony

This Cape Cod wedding minister/officiant is lucky enough to have in her neighborhood a spectacular wedding venue: Ocean Edge Resort. From the Carriage House balcony where Liz and Michael wed, to the huge canopy tree on the front lawn where Tricia and Bruce exchanged vows in July and every setting in between; from the beach, to the Great Gatsby white tent events, Ocean Edge has it all.
Selfishly, my favorite thing about Ocean Edge is that it is in my neighborhood and after a wedding I can meet my husband , sister and friends for a drink at the Ocean Terrace which has the most gorgeous sunset view on Cape Cod Bay.
For Liz and Michael my background as an interfaith minister was important to them since they were combining their cultural backgrounds. They wanted the spirit of community blessing from both sides of the family be pervasive theme of their ceremony.
Mike and Liz both had a wonderful sense of style and humor that made working with them a joy. They had a definate vision of how they wanted their ceremony to set the tone for the entire wedding day and evening.
Amy Mason of Stony Brook Designs helped create the wedding certificate. Liz and Michael are Canandians and this form of signing the marriage certificate is part of that tradition, as well as, bringing in the idea of the Ketubah, the Jewish wedding contract.

Liz and Michael said "I do" while blending traditions beneath a floral-bedecked chuppah. "At the ceremony, it was so meaningful to have my father read from Corinthians 13, followed by the Jewish tradition of breaking a glass in honor of Michael's family," said Liz.
A Perfect Beach Wedding
Favorite moment: "After our ceremony, we walked on the beach alone. I'll never forget our first moments as husband and wife," said Liz.
About the Couple
When Liz and Michael met in 2004 in the groom’s hometown of Montreal, Canada, it was love at first sight. Five years later, Michael popped the question in the couple’s New York City apartment, which he had transformed into an ultra-romantic setting, complete with candles, flowers and champagne. “The proposal was perfect,” recalled Liz. “He got down on one knee and I said yes.”
The ceremony and reception were held at the Ocean Edge Resort and Golf Club in Cape Cod. Mirroring the serenity of their surroundings, Liz and Michael chose a soft palette of neutral colors, punctuated by primary tones of red and blue, to complement their nautical theme. The bride’s classic Christos tulle gown, accented with pearl and bow detailing, fulfilled her requirement for “timeless and understated elegance.”
Since Liz’s mother had worn a fresh gardenia in her hair on her wedding day, Liz followed suit. After dining on a seafood-inspired menu, the couple danced to “God Only Knows,” by the Beach Boys. “We had the time of our lives—not only tying the knot, but celebrating with all the special people in our lives,” said Liz.
