Sweet July Weddings on Cape Cod and beyond

When last I wrote, spring was still an illusive dream. In early summer we had some heat but since the July 6th thunder storm each day's beauty has been unparallled. Tempertures in the low 80's or upper 70's sun warming after you get out of the bay, and the greening of this peninsula with bursts of hydrangeas and roses makes us all glad to be alive. I know when the change happened because on July 6th, a wedding planned for the garden at Commanders Mansion in Watertown was moved inside to the parlor.

To the background of occasional thunder claps and a well timed bicycle bell,

the couple 'pledged their troth.' Having described their nuptial theme as "Victorian Super- Hero" the atmosphere and weather was spot-on. I will share some photos when they arrive but for now let it suffice to say, it was a transfomational day!

Here is their sweet thank you note:

    Dear Kathleen,

We did it!! As Wes and I bask in the glow of such a lovely and perfect wedding day we are so very grateful for the big part you played in crossing us into the "country of marriage". From our first phone call to you handing me a tissue to wipe Wes' sweating brow during our vows, your presence radiated the warmth and calm reassurance we/I needed to keep "going in".
I will happily share some of the photos with you when we receive them in a few weeks -- what a day!
    So thankful for you!
    Love,
    Lynn & Wes
