Not far from here Austin and Greer wed at Chequessett:a marriage let's bless it. Wellfleet Oct 2013
We gather here at Chequessett: a marriage, let's bless it! On Saturday another fabulous family fusion wedding took place at CYCC-Chequessett Yacht and Country Club. This setting on Wellfleet Harbor is perfect for your naturally elegant, quintessential Cape Cod Wedding Ceremony and the couples who embrace this. Here we see The Wards happily having just said,"I do. I do." beneath this Huppah/wedding arch at their fusion wedding ceremony last year. Can't wait to see some photos of Saturday's delightful nuptials which included the Seven Blessings and a Unity Candle as well as a wine ceremony and beautiful blessings from all the family!
It is always a treat to hear from a newly engaged couple looking for a wedding officiant. It is extra fun when I hear them say they were at another wedding I had done. It is just so wonderful when one wedding ceremony leads to another. This wonderful couple, Michael and Marie Kennedy lead me to Meghan and Jeff's wedding in Providence. It was so great to see them there and meet more of their friends. Can't wait to see Meg and Jeff's photos.
Jim and Emily, a lovely local couple from Cape Cod wed at Wequassett last year in March. They knew me from Sadie and Patrick's wedding at the Orleans Yacht Club and Erika and Andrew's Autumn celebration has lead me to another wedding at Wequassett coming up in May.

Chequessett Weddings
Weddings at Chequessett- I have done several and always love the rustic, quintessential Cape atmosphere which just naturally surrounds this setting. What is better than a boat house on Cape Cod Bay in Wellfleet!
I don't have any photos yet from the wedding that took place this evening. I remembered how I love the stone steps leading down to the sand. It is such a naturally elegant processional for the bride.
The beyond- blended family gathered from ages 8-16 with two eleven year olds in the mix. It could have been quite a challenge but these five children were fantastic! Enthusiastic and just plain good natured. They did a sand ceremony symbolizing their fun family fusion. The bride and groom set the foundation and they children took turns pouring in the colored sands.

When you love someone you do not love them all the time in exactly the same way, from moment to moment. It is impossibility. It is even a lie to pretend to. And yet this is exactly what most of us demand. We have so little faith in the ebb and flow of life, of love of relationships. We leap at the flow of the tide and resist in terror its ebb. We are afraid it will never return. We insist on permanency, on duration , on continuity when the only continuity possible in life as in love is in growth, in fluidity in freedom in the sense that the dancers are free , barely touching as they pass but partners in the same pattern.
After rain off and on all day the the skies cleared and the sun setting over Cape Cod Bay made for a perfect setting for this Happy Big Day.
I will include some photos of past wedding at Chequessett and wish this wonderful couple and their beyond blended family every best wish and blessing.
