Weddings by the Sea- Love is Love and Love must Love

This Cape Cod Wedding Celebrant / officiant / interfaith minister heard the peepers singing in the woods yesterday. The park was alive with sounds of spring even if the sights of spring take their time showing up around here.

Sometimes I am little slow on the uptake myself and I just discovered this really sweet review that Rachel wrote and I want to share it and wish her and Angel a happy 6 months anniversary.

Planning a wedding is stressful enough, but trying to find an officiant out of state without ever meeting them makes things even more stressful. I was very nervous and she calmed me with her gentle humor and mentioned she liked the Johnny Cash ring tone. Within the first 2 minutes I knew that I had found the woman to marry us! We decided after several conversations over the phone that there would be no need to meet Kathleen before the ceremony. We met here that day as we stood on the beach at the edge of P-town and committed to one another. She speaks from the heart, embraces love as it is without judgement, and creates a ceremony that will forever be treasured. Her words are beautiful and she is a lovely, genuine person. I thank God that I found her and chose her to be a part of the most important day of our lives. She created a simply amazing ceremony. - Rachel

As some of you may note I don't make a big splash about presiding over same gender weddings. To me it is such a given- that love is love and love must love! Being faithful to one chum ....The crossing into the country of marriage is a sacred passage and the passport requirments are a true and committed fidelity to the ONE you choose above all the rest- So welcome all who are sincerely ready to cross that threshold! and amen to that!

And I really do like Johnny Cash. So here are gorgeous photos by Organic Photography capturing  Rachel and Angel's sweet simplicity ceremony at Race Point last Autumn.

Tying the Knot beneath the Linden Tree at Ocean Edge

    Spring Stirrings

This Cape Cod Wedding Officiant is feeling the stirrings of spring. The dawn chorus has begun in the woods around our house. Tiny shoots are peaking up through the softening earth and white snow drops have blossomed.

During our last snow storm, I met with a couple who will say, 'I do' beneath the Linden Tree on the lawn at Ocean Edge. The bride and I  looked up the meaning of the Linden tree and here's a bit of what we found.

Linden is part of the birch family.......

Scandinavian couples would celebrate May Day by making love in a Birch forest. Birch forests were sacred to Frigga, Goddess of fertility and love. The legendary Celtic lovers Diarmid and Grainne slept in Birch branch huts as they fled their pursuers.

So as the snow fell and the the fire crackled in the hearth,we imagined a summer wedding ceremony beneath the tree.

Linden is the spirit that can reveal the sweet honey....... In the spring, bees are drawn to the linden nectar, and the honey differs from the honey of other flowers. It is lighter. The linden tree spirit reiminds us of the dreams we have tucked away to the back of our hearts and it awakens the inner desire and strength to follow them.

Bruce and Tricia burst with sweet glee beneath the Linden tree.

"A Dream Come True" Jillian and Christopher say," I Do!"

    http://www.stylemepretty.com/massachusetts-weddings/2012/11/13/cape-cod-wedding-from-nicole-chaput-photography/

Setting in motion many long happy days with

noteworthy achievements and a tender flow-

Like Chris said, “When you know, you know.”

And so we gather here today at the crescent on the bay

To say, “Hooray, Chris and Jill are married today!”

From the Bride… Chris and I were married at Wequassett Resort on Cape Cod on July 7, 2012, on a humid but otherwise perfect day that was exactly three years, two months, and one day after our first date. We were so excited as our wedding day approached, for the usual reasons of course, but also because weddings play a big role in our lives together. Chris is a wedding photographer by trade, and we actually met when he was hired to photograph my cousin’s wedding (yes, I was a bridesmaid!). A friendship, and eventually love, blossomed as he photographed my sister’s and several additional cousins’ and family friends’ weddings in the years that followed. We both spent lots of time on Cape Cod as children and have wonderful memories of times we’ve spent together down Cape. Chris has worked at Wequassett too many times to count, and deeply respects his friend (and catering director) Kalson Pang’s talent when it comes to coordinating flawless events. Having our wedding on Wequasset’s Croquet Lawn overlooking Pleasant Bay was a dream come true, especially because of the beautiful, deeply-personal ceremony written and delivered by Rev. Kathleen Geagan, complete with an original comedic poem telling the story of our courtship. http://www.nicolechaputphotography.com/
