Happy Valentine's Day: Getting the Ceremony Right.

A Belated Happy Valentine's Day to all,  I wrote a little poem previously reread it and .....Yikes I'm rusty! or should I say, "rustic chic."

I imagine for many of you it has been a year of having and holding one another. A time like no other, letting go of idealized expectations, dreams delayed, priorities shifted and with great patience, a time to forge unbreakable ties. I honor all of you in this challenging time. But now there is hope that not only will ceremonies take place but the celebrations that go with them.

I know all of you are looking forward to more freedom and fun in 2021.

As I stare out at our snow covered lawn, hibernation comes naturally. I am keeping my schedule flexible to accomodate the unpredictable. Most importantly, to facilitate the remaining couples who have rescheduled with me, some repeatedly.

I'm available now to write ceremonies and love to do so. Coaching a one day officaint is really rewarding. Some couples have opted for a one day officiant to preside, someone who is family or perhaps in their pod. This is a safe option and oh, so family centered.

Rusty or not, we begin again, at least on pretty paper if not in person until June. Let me help make your ceremony sing: soulful, spot -on and fun.

    Sincerely,

Rev. Kate -Kathleen Geagan of Soulful Ceremonies

Radiant in Raynham: Krystal and Tom Wed at Stoneforge Tavern

On 11-11-11 the lovely young woman who helps with this very website wed on Union Street marrying the love of her life. I was lucky enough then to preside over Bethany and Scott's wedding on that beautiful November evening. On Saturday we all met up once again to witness the happy vows of Bethany's brother, Tom, to his sweetheart, Krystal. Such joy to meet up with this great family and to watch as "love exchanged enriches everyone of us." Here are some fun photos - Bethany was the family florist for this fabulous event.

" I picked the first cake I tasted.  I choose the first dress I tried on… like Tom- He was my first boyfriend. I didn’t need to try anything else on. He was exactly what I needed. No need to look around.  He's perfect! I picked my first and he'll be my last.  He is my home- my life.”  Krystal about Tom

Tom said this (among many other lovely things) about Krystal ..."She is so beautiful."

And now he'll be your husband now you’ll be his wife.

    Wedding Ceremony Blessings

I received this description of what a blessing actually is from the One Spirit Alliance Daily Practice. From Irish Blessings to the 7 blessings of the Jewish tradition, one does not have to have a religious service in order to have blessings in a ceremony.

A blessing is the offering of one heart to another; to another person, to a situation, to life itself. Isn't that what we are here for? To bless the savor of this precious moment even as it slips through our fingers? To allow its sorrow, its joy, its silence or laughter to enter our life stream and add a measure to who we are?

Here is an excerpt from For New Beginnnings that we never got to at Lil and Bob's wedding ceremony due to extreme weather conditions - suffice to say they were a very 'hot ' couple.

This beginning has been quietly forming,

Waiting until you were ready to emerge.

Valentine's Day Greetings from Soulful Wedding Ceremonies

In praise of Eros -a day that was made for lovers! There is still time to grab a marriage license and get hitched. These two hearts say it all. Hope you all made it through the storm. Here is a little prayer I often say at my weddings.

Bless this couple as they unite in marriage and create a family.

Please protect them and guide them through the challenges and storms of life.

Let their days together be happy and all their words to each other sweet

May they comfort and encourage each other in good times and bad.

May they always know Your loving presence and find shelter in each other hearts.
